Safety Wear

We take the necessary steps to identify, assess and mitigate risks as required.

Proper temperature management is an important attribute in a long list of critically important checks and balances set up to restrict any risk that your product may face during the storage stage. You can be confident that your products are being received, stored, and distributed under exacting environmental conditions and temperature specifications.

Design of the Vehicle:

It’s important to ensure the stock is transported in a controlled way and this entails the vehicle being covered properly. This ensures that the stock is free from contaminants such as dust, dirt, infestation, and other foreign materials, apart from being prevented from bad weather.

Our vehicles are chosen with your products in mind. We ensure that the vehicle is well maintained, cleaned, and stored in a way that does not provide entry or harbourage to pests. Our transport vehicles are equipped to achieve & maintain the required temperature, wherever required, and designed in a way that allows monitoring the temperature from outside.

Operational Control:

Our vehicles that are FSSAI certified are inspected for debris, dust, previous loads, pest activity & other non-food or hazardous items. Hazardous materials such as chemicals, fuels, and flammable materials are never transported with food material, as this may lead to chemical hazards to the product, and in the case of mixed food, load materials are compartmentalized to prevent cross-contamination.

For transport of chilled products, they are stored at a temperature of 5 Degree celsius or below, while frozen products are stored at a temperature of -18 Degree celsius or below. Bulk foodstuffs in liquid, granulate, or powder form are transported in containers/tankers reserved for the transport of foodstuffs.

Maintenance and Sanitation:

The interior of our vehicles is kept clean without any seepage, cobwebs, dirt, dust, etc. that can compromise the safety of food. Pest control programs for our vehicles are carried out by trained and experienced personnel.

Personal Hygiene and Training:

Hima’s food handlers maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness. In the case of handling naked products, we ensure that the food handler is not suffering from any disease or illness or with open wounds or burns, as it may lead to contamination. Additionally, food handlers are equipped with suitable aprons, gloves, headgear, shoe covers, etc. In the case of a sealed pack, we use gloves and an apron to ensure hygiene.
